Abstract

The most common type of failure of endodontically treated tooth is post loosening. This can be due to selection of improper post system. While selecting a post system, the root canal morphology of the tooth being restored should be considered. In case of narrow canals with adequate dentinal wall thickness, a prefabricated post shows better adaptation to the canal walls.
