An overview of the reasons responsible for less compliance of oral appliances used in the treatment of sleep apnea
Abstract
Oral appliances have become widely used in recent years for the management of snoring and are considered as a first line of therapy in patients with simple snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea. Continuous use is essential for the success of oral appliance therapy, but some patients stop using the appliance for various reasons but it may have unpredictable consequences. Purpose of this overview is to report reasons of patient’s non-compliance and complications of long-term use of oral appliances used for the management of sleep apnea.
