About the Journal

Trends in Prosthodontics and Dental Implantology (TPDI), is an official publication of the Society for Prosthodontics Education and Research (SPEAR) and Indian Foundation of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Implantology. It is a peer-reviewed journal with half-yearly print and the print copies are circulated to all life members of the Society for Prosthodontics Education and Research (SPEAR). The journal’s full text (Print ISSN: 0975-9298) is available online at http://www.trendsinprosthodontics.com. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive finally accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Scope of the journal        

It is a journal for Prosthodontic community. The journal believes in upholding the health needs of the mankind as the most important factor while publishing a research communication. The journal’s top priority is to establish itself globally in the specialty of Prosthodontics.

Trends in Prosthodontics and Dental Implantology is dedicated to publish articles to improve the knowledge, competencies and attitudes based on the professionalism of prosthodontists in general and of the members of the sponsoring organisations in particular. The Journal covers all divisions of prosthodontics including Removable prosthodontics, Fixed prosthodontics, Maxillofacial prosthetics, Implantology, Dental materials science, Temporomandibular disorders and management, Esthetic dentistry, Digital prosthodontics, Innovations, Oral physiology, Oral biomechanics and related biosciences. 

The journal encourages the submission of original research articles, reviews – systematic and narrative, case series, reports, techniques, innovations, clinical and laboratory procedure. Articles related to clinical studies and implications shall be given greater preference. The journal integrates academicians, clinicians and researchers from globally.

Journal Ethics

The journal Trends in Prosthodontics and Dental Implantology (TPDI), is committed to meeting and upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. About the Society

Dr. Chandrasekhar K Nair has initiated the idea for the society of prosthodontists in an informal meeting. AADHOC committee comprising Dr. Rajmohan C S, Dr Sendhil Nathan and Dr. Chandrasekhar K Nair was formed to initiate the proceedings. The Society for Prosthodontics Education and Research (SPEAR) was officially formed on 15th July 2013. The SPEAR Trust constitution was framed and accepted.

The SPEAR Trust was formally registered as a trust with Sub-Register office in Thanjavur on 15th July 2013 and it became a registered society. The Constitution was laid to promote harmony among members in having the interest of Prosthetic Dentistry as uppermost in their minds.
